Review:
As an author and book reviewer, I read a lot of books, so it is not often that I get really excited about a book. I get especially excited when I come across a great book in the genre that I write in - mystery and suspense. The last book in this genre to really get me excited was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Well add Spellbound by Deanie Mills to that list. I read this book in approximately three days and I didn't want it to end. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the decisions that the protagonist, Faith "Dani" Daniels made in this book, but hell, that's what makes good fiction. I did, however, fall head over heels for her love interest and great protector, Nathan Kendall. I adore his character - he just seemed so down to earth, guy next door type material. The plot throws curveball after curveball, and I loved every bit of it. This book is not for the faint of heart, so go in with the expectation of shock appeal and gritty suspense.
I am officially a fan. I absolutely love Deanie Mills' work in Spellbound, and I look forward to reading another of her books titled Darkroom. Brilliant job.
